摘要
The incremental step creep test consists of loading a tensile specimen at a given temperature by incremental steps, each step being followed by constant load conditions for several seconds. From the measured creep rate after each step, the apparent activation area for creep can be determined as a function of the stress at the test temperature and for a given microstructural state. Starting from this activation area, it is also possible to estimate the apparent activation energy for creep. The results of tests performed with commercially pure iron in the as-received condition as well as after creep deformation are analyzed and discussed.
