摘要
The large high-performance electromagnetic calorimeter of L3 (approx. 12,000 BGO crystals, 1. 6 m**3 sensitive volume) is no more a remote project, but has entered the component production stage. After the recall of some of the specific features of this calorimeter, the situation of crystal production, machining and reception tests will be reviewed. The present level of performance, as measured in test beams on crystal matrices, will be indicated.
