CUTTING COSTS OF CORRUGATED CONTAINERS.

This paper deals with a new approach to design of paperboard containers in regard to attain materials savings. End-loaded container has been shown to yield large savings in board when compared with more-traditional top-loader because of major reduction in material used for flaps. The discussion is given under the following headings - flute orientation die cutting and contour packaging; standard containers; board weight; packaging systems; shrink wrap; and distribution patterns and ordering procedures.
