摘要
With the aim of developing an edger for installation between the finishing stands, a 1/10 model mill was tested using a hard lead strip as a model strip. As a result, basic characteristics of strip edging under tension were made clear. And next, a strip edger was installed between finishing stands of the hot strip mill line at Nippon Steel Corporation's Nagoya Works where experiments were conducted under various conditions. As a result, it was clarified that the strip edger between the latter finishing stands was effective to control strip width. And pressure multiplication factor of the strip edging, which was calculated from the measured rolling load during the experiments, was nearly equal to the results from the model experiment with hard lead plate.
