The characteristic features of the People-Powered Lean (PPL) system are discussed. The system can help in getting the right employees with the right skills at the right time, and in the right numbers. Successful implementation of PPL will have a direct effect on the labor line of the income statement. PPL systems apply the same rigor to the human capital programs as to the manufacturing processes, by focusing on the value stream, decreasing waste, and understanding that our processes are only as good as the people.
