Rigorous full-wave models are constructed for dispersion analysis of 3-D periodic slow-wave structures with the use of data about the S-matrices of individual elements. The latter are obtained by the generalized mode matching technique with preliminary searching complete waveguide bases for separate fragments of the slow-wave structure. Characteristics of the algorithms are analyzed and some examples are presented on calculating ridged structures used in klynotrons. © 2015 by Begell House, Inc.
