The Paris air show in June 2003 is expected to emphasize the aerospace-defense industry's economic concerns rather than new technical achievements. About 1,800 companies will be exhibiting, close to the record levels set in the year 2001. The US Defense Dept. has decided to field a smaller contingent at the show, as a result of the political disagreement between the United States and France over the recent war in Iraq.
