Much thought is given nowadays to reducing the amount of various toxic materials emitted into the atmosphere when burning fossil fuels. In particular, this concerns nitrogen oxides produced in great amounts when burning fossil fuels at thermal power stations. The paper considers the effect of three-staged combustion on the characteristics of the process in a boiler furnace.
