摘要
The adoption of gas engine-driven refrigeration system with heat recovery by the Aquamar, Inc., a seafood processing plant, is discussed. The system utilizes a plate-frame heat exchanger to recover heat from the engine jacket water. To maximize the heat recovery potential, the heat exchanger is located between the engine and the rooftop refrigeration system could reduce costs further. This bought the total annual saving to $107,000 and significantly reduced the payback time on the new gas equipment's $455,000 capital cost.
