The temperature gradient model of concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau was studied based on the long-term and continuous temperature field monitoring test of the large-scale experimental arch section with the same pipe diameter as the actual bridge site and the analysis of a large number of previous research results. The Zangmu Yarlung Zangbo River Bridge in the Lalin Section of the Sichuan-Tibet Railway was selected as the engineering background. The results show that the temperature of steel tube section along the direction of diameter changes with time and has the characteristics of periodic time history and inhomogeneous space. The temperature gradient model of concrete-filled steel tube can be fitted as a three-section line graph according to the specification. Regulations for temperature gradient mode of concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge in Code for Design of Highway Concrete-filled Steel Tube Arch Bridge is quite different from that obtained from the experiment. On the basis of the above research results; the concept of reference temperature gradient was proposed and the formula for calculating the vertical temperature gradient of different pipe diameters of circular section of concrete-filled steel tube arch bridge suitable for the Qinghai-Tibet plateau was proposed. © 2020; Central South University Press.
