Skog completes acquisition of Pacifica

The aquisition of Pacifica Papers Inc. by Norske Skog, Canada, resulted in the combined company under the name NorskeCanada. NorseCanada became the largest groundwood paper and pulp company in North America with an annual capacity 2.5 million of tonnes. Both the companies produce groundwood paper with recycled content from deink pulp supplied by Newstech Recycling. The supply arrangement of the new mill remained the same following the merger. This merger is to provide the companies with better management of its divisions with the operations under control of single Canadian public company.
