Application and Impact of Computer Energy-saving System in Employee Computers: An Empirical Study Based on a Company

摘要
This study aims to explore the application of computer energy-saving systems in employees' computers and conduct a technical analysis of their impact on energy consumption and the environment. While computer energy-saving systems have demonstrated significant energy-saving effects in practical applications, they also present some limitations, such as the challenge of balancing energy-saving effectiveness and user experience. In this research, we conducted an empirical study in a specific company in China by installing computer energy-saving software on employees' computers and collecting energy consumption data in different work states to derive energy-saving models and data. After a 7-day observation period, we found that the computer energy consumption of employees in the eastern region, where the computer energy-saving system was implemented, was significantly lower than that of employees in the northern region, where the system was not used. Furthermore, we assessed the environmental values and energy-saving behaviors of employees in both regions to investigate the impact of the computer energy-saving system on employees' individual energy-saving awareness. Conducting independent sample t-tests on the collected data, we observed that employees in the eastern region exhibited significantly higher environmental values and self-reported energy-saving behaviors compared to those in the northern region. This indicates that the application of the computer energy-saving system not only reduces computer energy consumption but also stimulates employees' energy-saving awareness and behaviors to some extent. These discoveries provide crucial technical support for companies and other organizations to develop targeted energysaving and environmental protection strategies while promoting sustainable development and environmental conservation efforts.
