摘要
Inclusive education is a model of education that aims to offer equal conditions and learning opportunities to each student. It is important to consider basic elements of inclusion in the teaching practice when having a diverse student population, empathy is one of the components that contribute significantly to the creation of inclusive spaces, where one is sensitive to the needs of students, recognizes one's own and others' emotions, and seeks an environment that validates and incorporates in a creative and respectful way the strengths that students present in a particular way. Students with outstanding abilities often face barriers to effective inclusion in the school environment, both academically and socially, so it is necessary to seek actions that involve teachers and the student community to promote the participation of children with outstanding abilities so that they can integrate productively into society. Therefore, the objective of this article is to analyze the relevance of empathy in teaching practice for the inclusion of students with outstanding abilities in basic education.
