摘要
The present investigation was carried out at Main Experiment Station, Department of Vegetable Science, Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology, Narendra Nagar (Kumarganj), Faizabad (U.P.) India during rabi 2013-14. The study comprised thirty five genotypes evaluated for growth and yield component. The mean squares due to genotypes were highly significant for all the characters. The higher magnitude of coefficient of variation at phenotypic as well as genotypic levels observed for diameter of bulb, length of clove, bulb yield per plant and number of cloves per bulb, suggesting additive gene action. Moderate coefficient of variation at phenotypic as well as genotypic level observed in case of plant height, length of leaf and neck thickness. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance as per cent of mean was observed for diameter of bulb and bulb yield per plant. This indicates that these traits were less influenced by environment.
