PT-SN/AL2O3 BIMETALLIC CATALYSTS PREPARED BY SOLVATED METAL ATOM DISPERSION (SMAD) - SYNTHESIS AND CATALYTIC PERFORMANCE

摘要
Conventional Pt/Al//2O//3 catalysts have been doped with Sn by using low-temperature organic solutions of Sn atoms/clusters in THF or toluene (solvated metal atom dispersion, SMAD). The resultant SMAD Pt-Sn/Al//2O//3 catalysts exhibit unusual behavior in hydrocarbon conversions. Dehydrocyclization activities are high while hydrogenolysis (multiple C-C bond cleavages) activities are low compared with those of Pt/Al//2O//3. Resistance to sulfur poisoning is good. Alloy formation (Pt-Sn) appears to be important.
