The effectiveness of e-portfolios is to a greater extent a result of the active process of their development than with the final product itself. The e-portfolio allows recording the outcomes of authentic instruction and reveals opportunities for collecting different types of proofs such as a text, audio, video records, graphics, photos and other types of presentations. The current study aims to determine the significance of e-portfolios in the learning process based on the students' opinions. The results of content analysis of 38 students' essays about use of student's e-portfolio for learning purposes are presented in this paper. The paper clarifies e-portfolio's basic functions in instruction. The results indicated that the greatest advantages of student's e-portfolio are related to supporting and following the progress of learning, assuring attractive presentation in different contexts, providing the overall picture of knowledge acquisition, implementing formative assessment and developing different kind of important skills.
