Racism and Education: Ethnic-Racial Focus on the Public University

摘要
The paper presents an account of an experiment conducted in a public university in the metropolitan area Sao Paulo, in the perspective of education for ethnic-racial relations. Such experience occurred through a set of activities within an elective offered to students of various courses of a campus of humanity, in the second half of 2015. The methodology consists of description and analysis of activities promoting debates among students, as well testimonials, reports and other works by graduates of these degree courses in History, Language, Pedagogy, Philosophy and Social Sciences. The results indicate the importance of implementing public policies that enable the development of initial and continuing education programs targeted teachers for thematic discussions of ethnic and race relations as a key element in the struggle for ensuring anti-racist perspective in Basic Education in order that this issue has been a factor of great interference in school interactions with direct impact in building a more just and egalitarian school for blacks and whites.
