摘要
Nowadays one is able to search more and more information, which requires studies to add innovation in the traditional ways of information representation, organization and retrieval. In a specific knowledge domain, a usual challenge related to information retrieval is to create semantic relations between terms of a specialized vocabulary, generating an efficient model for knowledge representation using instruments like ontologies. The purpose of this article is to describe a proposal for the use of ontologies in Knowledge Discovery in Database process (KDD), more specifically, in data mining using association rules technique. The paper associates the KDD and ontologies to contribute to the information retrieval and, consequently, knowledge extraction.
