摘要
The objective of this paper is to optimize the multiple projects planning and management process of an architecture and engineering department of a Brazilian public university. It also seeks to contribute to the theoretical knowledge base of project management area by presenting the methodology developed and applied in this work. This methodology consists of five steps, which are: the definition of current status, defining product's families, process mapping, application of visual management and the creation routines of project planning and control. The implementation of the measures described in this article allowed the department to improve it flexibility and integration between the schedules of their projects. Consequently, it increased the efficiency and effectiveness of their projects, and the use of their available resources.
