This research analyzes the << pedagogic pair >> method as a new device in the training of Secondary School teachers. The study was conducted at the Teacher Education Center (CeRP) from Litoral by collecting opinions of students, teachers and principals using a multi-method approach. The techniques used were a self-administered survey and episodic interviews. A questionaire was applied to seventy five senior teacher training students. Eleven relevant informants were interviewed. The study identifies perceptions, tensions and challenges generated by this new approach to teaching practice and suggests trends as well as arguments for the design of new policies to accompany the initial and subsequent development of the teaching career.
