A new iterative method is presented which contains the usual Gauss-Seidel method and its generalizations. We define the extrapolated Generalized Gauss-Seidel method (EGGS) and give some convergence conditions. We also prove that this method is asymptotically faster, when the matrix A of (1.1) is a consistently ordered matrix. Finally, some sufficient convergence conditions are given for another generalized iterative method.
