摘要
The main objective of this study is to compare the life cycle of fossil fuel (coal, natural gas and oil) in order to assess the overall environmental impact. In this respect it was analyzed the fossil fuels energy production based on the best available energy technologies for each fuel. The methodology used in order to evaluate the total environmental impact was Life Cycle Analysis. The method allowed on one side the identification of the pollutants generated in each stage: extraction, treatment, transportation and combustion, and on the other side identification of the main classes of impact according the pollutants inventory.
