摘要
Kinetics of oxidation of cyclopentanol, cyclohexanol, cycloheptanol and cyclooctanol by Bipyridinium chlorochromate (BPCC) in the presence of H+ ions are reported. The order in [BPCC], [cyclanol] and [H+] is one each. The relative reactivity of cyclanols viz. Cyclohexanol < cyclopentanol < cycloheptanol < cyclooctanol, has been explained on the basis of I-strain theory.
