摘要
Methanol oxidation on a palladium catalyst may proceed in oscillatory regime if an adequate correlation among various factors - reaction cell temperature, methanol content, oxygen flow rate, catalyst sample weight and its disposal on the metallic support - is realized. The influence of these factors upon the appearance and the characteristics of the thermal oscillations is presented. An attempt is made to propose a possible mechanism for the oscillatory behaviour, based on the reactivity of the intermediate PdxO phase.
