Digital terrestrial television in Colombia: A chance to close the digital divide

摘要
This paper analyzes the implementation of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in Colombia and the contributions they have achieved in reducing the digital divide. The research is based on a review of studies on the relationship of dtt to the digital divide and the impact it has had on different countries of the world in the social as in the merely television, as well as public documents that have shaped the implementation of dtt in Colombia by implementation plans and laws. The letter refers to the implementation of in Colombia and made a contextualization of the countries that have completed their deployment and others near to them that are in the in the same process. We study the impact of the information and communication technologies, and how TDT can become an alternative to be included in government plans making it a tool to support social inclusion processes.
