摘要
One of the least understood problems is understanding. Starting with a short review on current models of understanding, the paper tries to describe the relation between consciousness, communication and media in terms of a model of self-organization. It is claimed that media offers - e.g. texts - provide a structural coupling of otherwise closed systems, viz. cognitive and social systems. A model of text understanding is developed which tries to discriminate at least the factor-dimensions which supposedly interact during the self-organizing process called understanding. In a short appendix essentials of the cognitivist research in understanding are epitomized in order to allow the reader a comparison between a cognitivist and a constructivist approach to the problem of understanding. © 1992.
