摘要：
The development of a new, comprehensive international standard in electrostatics is reviewed. Electrostatic phenomena impact a wide range of industries and influence industrial safety as well as product quality and so the standard is a code of industrial practice rather than a collection of test specifications. Many of the test methods which are well established, are reviewed briefly and emphasis given to those areas where new methods are required - hence, the new technology.
