摘要
The theater products of Latinos in the United States have created an important and innovative corpus that requires more critical studies. One of the most prolific and interesting voices of the Latino theater proposals is that of Migdalia Cruz, the author of over forty theater works, as well as several translations and adaptations. This essay strives to go over the theater aesthetics of Cruz, discovering characteristic elements of the aesthetics of her work, as the monologue and the incorporation of religious elements. The use of the monologue is a key element in the work of Cruz that is used in order to develop the characters at different levels. The author includes this in the religious aesthetics to develop a very particular concept of ritual in her theater work.
