摘要
This work shows the determination of a water quality index (WQI) for Aroa and Yaracuy rivers in Falcon and Yaracuy states. This index intents to classify the water quality in a scale from 0 to 100 according to the evaluate constituent and this allow to classify the water quality. The WQI developed considers thirteen constituents. The WQI is representative of water quality on specific area and the moment where the sample was take. The studies conclude that the Aroa river has average quality, very close to bad in the two sectors studied (upstream and mouth), while the Yaracuy river has a good quality almost excellent in the stretch upstream, while demotion but even good in the two sectors studied (upstream and mouth).
