The State as a Protagonist of the Development of DTT in Argentina

After comings and goings in the choice of the standard for digital television, in the second semester of 2009, Argentina decided to follow in the footsteps of Brazil and adopted the nipo-Brazilian standard. Since then, a series of policies and concrete actions have taken place to implement the digital terrestrial television (DTT) in that country. Now, three years after, it is possible to perform a balance that analyzes the strengths and flaws of the DTT implementation process in Argentina. The aim of this article is focusing on public policies carried out by the Argentine State both on the deployment of infrastructure as in the encouragement of the production of content.
