CONVERSION OF ENERGY OF FAST ELECTRONS INTO THE THERMAL PLASMA RADIATION

摘要
Conversion is considered of energy of high-energy fast electrons (FE) emitted upon exposure of a target to the CO2 laser radiation into the self-emission from plasma of cladding targets which can be located, e. g. inside targets exposed to the CO2 laser radiation. Analytical formulas are derived for the temperature of the converted radiation. The selection of target and FE flow parameters can be controlled by the radiation. It is shown numerically that the conversion into the thermal self-emission amounts to 95 %. The mentioned method of the conversion is more advantageous as compared with the direct exposure of the target to the CO2 laser radiation because the radiation region is localized in the target mass. Upon exposure of the target to the laser radiation the mass of the region grows with time, that is why the temperature of the emitted radiation becomes lower than in the case of exposure of the target to the FE.
