University Training in Corporate Social Responsibility - CSR: A Matter of Development

This essay presents the current status of Corporate Social Responsibility - CSR and the role university should play for its foundation in the future. The text proposes a greater compromise from academia in order to support enterprise management in a globalized world. Although CSR changes the former paradigms of the relation between Enterprise and Society, it is in need of greater conceptual, philosophical, and methodological developments, issues to which academia could bring consistency and scientific basis. The text also presents an approach to the state of the art of CSR teaching in Colombia and Latin America and, finally, it makes a synthetic proposal of thematic and research principles for training in CSR at a university level.
