摘要
The increasing modularization of plants and the accompaniying decentralization of automation systems requires new concepts for the design of control applications. The distribution of applications among several devices and the growing demand for software reuse necessitate the clear definition of encapsulation methods, interfaces, and communication structures. The IEC 61499 addresses these issues by providing a framework for the development of distributed automation systems based on function blocks. In this article the main concepts of the standard are described.
