摘要
Objectives: Associate serum levels of vitamin D with sociodemographic variables, nutritional status, physical activity practice and time of sun exposure in type 2 diabetic women. Method: A cross-sectional study with elderly women diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus, recruited at the nutrition clinic of the Elderly Assistance Center of UFPE. A form was applied addressing sociodemographic issues and habits related to the practice of physical activity and exposure to the sun. Subsequently, the BMI was measured and serum levels of 25 hydroxyvitamin D were performed. Results: The sample was 54 participants, with 69.37 +/- 5.02 years, browns (64.8%) and income up to a minimum wage (40.7%). Overweight was predominant (53.7%) and about 94.4% were exposed to the sun more frequently than 3 times a week (61.1%). The median of 25-hydroxyvitamin D was 30.96 ng / mL. The white race (p = 0.046) was associated with vitamin D sufficiency and study time greater than 8 years (p = 0.024), to vitamin deficiency. Conclusion: There was a low frequency of hypovitaminosis D in the studied population, a result probably due to the high time of sun exposure and the practice of physical activity. Future studies are needed to confirm these findings in the elderly diabetic population.
