摘要
This paper describes Chalcides ghiarai sp. nov., a member of the Chalcides ocellatus group (sensu Pasteur, 1981). This viviparous species is of medium size, with pentadactyle limbs, a striped dorsal pattern, a simple chorio-allantoic placenta and a diploid complement with 28 biarmed chromosomes. C. ghiarai is easily distinguishable from other Moroccan taxa of the Chalcides ocellatus group by its morphological and chromosome characteristics. The new species inhabits the northeastern coast of Morocco and the Chafarinas Islands.
