摘要
Introduction: Practice is crucial in nursing education. Today, technological developments have paved the way for new methods in this field. This study investigated the effectiveness of mobile virtual reality as a teaching strategy for surgical aseptic skills. Methods: The study was quasiexperimental. The sample consisted of 40 second-year nursing students taking the Surgical Nursing course (theoretical lecture). Results: The intervention and control groups had a mean age of 20 1 and 20, respectively. The groups were homogenous in terms of age, sex, and grade point averages. All participants performed 12 skills correctly. There was a significant difference in skill assessment form scores between the intervention and the control group (14.50 +/- 3.75) (p < 0.001). Discussion: The intervention group outperformed the control group in most surgical aseptic skills and the control group participants reported anxiety during conventional education. This result is consistent with the literature. (C) 2022 Organization for Associate Degree Nursing. Published by Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
