摘要
Fertility problems are continually on the rise in the industrialised world. This is mainly due to the fact that people are choosing to have children later, to the growing problem of overweight and to sexually transmitted infectious diseases. The European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the European organisation of physicians and biologists working in the field of fertility medicine, has always tried to ensure that childless couples receive the best possible treatment for their fertility problems. At the same time, it aims to avoid unnecessary treatment risks and particularly forms of treatment without effect for childless couples. The aim of the ESHRE position paper is to present the principles of "Good Clinical Treatment in Assisted Reproduction" on the basis of evidence-based professional medicine.
