摘要
Two series of small CeAl3 single crystals obtained by different methods have been characterized by X-ray and neutron diffraction, SEM and metallographic analysis. Magnetic susceptibility, specific heat and transport properties confirm that CeAl3 single crystals behave quite differently from polycrystalline samples. All data argue for a moderate-moment magnetically ordered Kondo state below a temperature of about 1-2 K which appears to be very sample dependent.
