SURFACE CONTOURING BY A NEW-TYPE OF DIGITAL MOIRE TECHNIQUE

A new digital moire contouring technique is proposed. The technique is based on the demodulation of the generalised carrier fringe pattern using the spatial carrier phase-stepping algorithm combined with computer-generated mask to extract desired 3-D surface contouring information which is encoded in the phase distribution of perturbed projection grating. Parallel phase shifts are introduced simultaneously and only one deformed grating image and a reference grating image are acquired to perform quantitative fringe analysis. Experimental results verify the theoretical analysis.
