A 74-year-old woman developped septicemia due to Torulopsis glabrata. She was treated with corticosteroids for a nine-year period for rheumatoid arthritis. The positive stool cultures and digestive signs suggested that the lead-point for the septicemia was digestive. Immunodepression state and broad spectrum antimicrobial treatment promoted systemic dissemination of the yeast. Althought the patient died after multiple complications, treatment with amphotericine B and fluorecytosine seemed efficient on the fungal infection.
