Phthalocyaninato- and tetrapyrazoporpyhrazinato metal complexes PcM and TPzPM (M = Fe, Ru) which are treated with bidentate bridging ligands L [e.g. 1,4-diisocyanobenzene (dib), 2,3,5,6-tetramethyldiisocyanobenzene (me4dib), 4-isocyano-3,5-dimethylpyridine (me2pyNC), pyrazine (pyz)] lead to linear bridged systems [PcM(L)]n and [TPzPM(L)]n. By using the peripherically substituted macrocycles t-Bu4PcM, and t-Bu4TPzPM the corresponding coordination oligomers are soluble in CHCl3, CHCl2 or toluene. The average chain length can be determined by H-1-NMR-spectroscopy. If the bridging ligand is substituted with long side chains, e.g. 2,5-didecylpyrazine (dec2pyz) soluble coordination oligomers, e.g. [PcRu(dec2pyz)]n are also obtained.
