Social work intervention in violence against women prevention

The main purpose of this article is characterization of Social Work intervention in violence against women prevention, from the definition of the concepts and analytical perspectives that had led the cooperative experience between Fondo de Documentacion Mujer y Genero of Facultad de Ciencias Humanas of Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Special Gender Bank Documentary) and the Campana del Lazo Blanco (White Ribbon Campaign). This is a worldwide initiative of a group of men in searching of sensitizing the community about the critics of violence against women, defined as a violation of their human rights. Compromise of the masculine collectives is promoted under the assumption of their responsibility in the production and reproduction of this violence, whether for action or omission. Gender perspective, ethics and human rights constitute the principles of the proposed reflection. Social Work intervention preventive of in human rights field constitutes a strategy that contributes to the identification of social and subjective responsibilities from those who exert violence against women.
