The study is prepared through Competitive Intelligence literature review, complemented by meta-analysis and content analysis, through which a corpus of previous multiple studies about corporate strategy formulation and implementation on companies located in Americas and Europe, and in short grade in Africa, Asia and Oceania, researched on the last ten years. As results, the research signs that a half of the companies analyzed use Competitive Intelligence's practices and that the referred use contributes to management and decisions improvement, decreasing risks and increasing the long and short term performance. This study intended to contribute to increase the level of knowledge of Competitive Intelligence concepts and practices, their use as a basis of strategy formulation and implementation and their contributions, allowing deeper studies about the theme in academic area and enabling companies to explore the theme increasingly.
