摘要
A copper tube used as electrode was evaluated for the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide under atmospheric pressure. The applied electric potential was -1.4 to -2.0 V. The main products from carbon dioxide were methylalcohol and formic acid. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the Faradaic efficiencies for methylalcohol, formic acid and methane from carbon dioxide in the electrochemical reduction system were 18 % at -1.7 V and 40 degrees C, 0.91 % at -1.8 V and 20 degrees C, and 0.013 % at -1.8 v and 20 degrees C, respectively.
