摘要
Vibration damping composite steel, where two steel sheets less than several milimeters are adhered to each other with resin of 0.03 approximately 0.15mm, has the highest damping characteristics among the existing metallic materials. It has been utilized for many industrial products such as automobile parts, electric appliances, and noise protecting devices. The sheet, however, has not been applied for reducing noise and vibration generated from the working machines such as mechanical presses with the exception of a few examples. This is because the damping behavior of machine elements subjected to heavy load or impact have not been revealed yet. In the present experimental studies, vibration and damping characteristics of the , damping composite steel sheets are examined by changing setting-force and thickness of the sheets in a simple experimental system. It is confirmed that the sheets show very effective damping characteristics. In the next, the sheets are utilized as a part of the dieset for steel metal blanking. As a result, the noise and vibration can be reduced by approximately 50%.
