摘要
People with intellectual disabilities manifest specific problems in areas of motor development, such as basic motor skills, body schema and control of bodily functions. They usually have eye-hand coordination, laterality and visual motor control deficits. The lack of balance, poor muscle tone, clumsiness of movements and sagging of hands are other characteristics that these people have. This article describes a research of practice-explorative nature which determines that, through the creative process carried out in educational-artistic activities in an Ocupacional Centre, people with intellectual disabilities develop their motor skills, particularly fine motor skills, decisive for the acquisition of skills and abilities in the movements of the hands and fingers and essential for the development of their autonomy.
