A system of physical training based on free self choice of working parameters was developed. Freely chosen duration and volume of work were individual and sufficiently stable. Their changes in the process of training were cyclic and had a sinosoidal pattern. Healthy persons were trained in this manner 3 times a week for 3 - 5 weeks. This resulted in increase of their working capacity. Daily training according to the same method was used in 24-days rehabilitation program of patients with ischemic heart disease and was followed by clearcut elevation of tolerance to physical effort.
