SPORT : A PUBLIC COGNITIVE PASSION

Considering closely how the passion expected from the reader is objectified in the newspaper L'Equipe, we will work at clarifying the different modes in which it can be called cognitive. We will do so, in function of the way the reader's own feelings are involved into the news he becomes cognizant of in the newspaper; in function also of the way the schemata that organize knowledge, headings and classes in which it is distributed daily, bear the mark of passion alleged to the reader whom they stimulate the appetite and equip the cognitive assessment, predictions, comparisons, connections... Finally, in function of whether the cognitive passion refers not only to the chronicle but also to the legend, growing from a back and forth movement between the two, by currently invoking major events of the past and emotions attached to them, and by becoming the heritage of present events.
