摘要
A new law concerning patient rights (Patientenrechtegesetz) came into force on 26 February 2013 and codifies mostly German case law in medical liability. New elements consist of the obligation to provide patients with a copy of the signed consent form and to inform patients about indications regarding malpractice. Both rules may considerably increase the risk of medical malpractice liability for practitioners which was probably intended by the legislator.
