PERSPECTIVES OF PSYCHOSOMATIC-MEDICINE

In this paper the significance of the patient's history as part of a comprehensive concept and as a basis of author's psychosomatic perspective is discussed. The concept is presented by means of a case report describing the different steps of a psychosomatic treatment in a university hospital leading from consultation and liaison work to in-patient treatment and to a post-hospital phase. The second part deals with the theoretical perspectives of the author's holistic approach which differentiates clearly physical, psychic, psychodynamic and family aspects in diagnosis as well as in treatment. Without a clear description of the institutional and theoretical conditions, psychosomatic perspectives are not comparable in national or international literature.
